Host a Resource Drive

Host a Baby Basics Resource Drive for our littlest neighbors

Want to host a Baby Basics Resource Drive? It's easy!

Step 1: Identify who you want to ask

Are you at a school or community center? Or with a scout group or religious group?

Maybe you're celebrating a birthday, an anniversary, or a baby shower for one of your favorited?

Our supporters host resource drives for many reasons - the only requirement is a desire to help our littlest neighbors!

Q: Should I tell LIFE Houston about my drive? Only if you want to!

We love to share information, pictures, and support with our drive hosts. But if you are more of a DIY person, have at it!

Step 2: Share information about what to donate

Most varieties of formula - including generic versions - are available at all major grocery and retail chains. The generic brand changes at each store, but they are all produced by one manufacturer.

When babies eat, what goes in must come out...in other words, we always need diapers and wipes

Q: Can I donate opened diapers? Yes you can! We often repackage diapers so we can give an appropriate amount for the infant's age. So if your little one has a growth spurt, bring those unused diapers to us!

Other helpful donations include bath time and health essentials, new clothes, and toys for a baby or their older siblings.

Q: Do you take gently-used clothes? Not at this time.

*Our Holiday Baby Bash is in early December. Please email Leah if you are interested in participating in our Angel Tree.

Step 3: Collect donations and say thank you!

Some people like to collect donations in person and bring a huge carful of donations to our office.

Others prefer to have donations mailed or dropped off individually, which can be great for maintaining a safe distance.

Or maybe your company wants a representative to visit the office and share information about how this donation can help.

Whatever your preference, we can accommodate it!

One note: Amazon does not tell us who sends us items, so please remind your donors to share a donation receipt with us so we can thank them properly!!

Q: Is this tax-exempt? Yes! We are registered as a 501(c)(3) with the IRS, so all donations are exempt as allowed by IRS guidelines.

Q: Can I have a tax receipt? Absolutely! All donations receive a tax receipt; however, we only state the value for monetary contributions. The donor is responsible for valuing a donated item (so save those receipts!).

Want us to help you with a thank you card or email? No problem! We love to say thanks - please email Leah about that.

When families visit us for free emergency baby formula, they often need other Baby Basics like diapers, wipes, bottles, and essentials for a baby's first year.

Thanks to our neighbors who host a Baby Basics Resource Drive, we have these items in stock throughout the year.
