Friends, advocates, and community leaders gathered at The Junior League of Houston, Inc. for L.I.F.E. Houston’s Fall Friends Luncheon, an annual celebration of generosity and compassion. More than 250 guests came together for an inspiring event that united the Houston community in support of its most vulnerable residents, infants in need of proper nutrition.

The Fall Friends Luncheon is a signature fundraising event benefiting L.I.F.E. Houston, a nonprofit organization that provides emergency infant formula and nutrition education to families in crisis. Each year, the luncheon serves as both a celebration of impact and a rallying call to action against infant food insecurity in the Greater Houston area. With the rising costs of formula and essential needs, L.I.F.E. Houston’s mission to fill the gap for struggling families is more vital than ever. This year’s luncheon raised over $140,000, funds that will directly support emergency formula services, community outreach, and educational programs. Each dollar raised represents tangible relief, transforming hunger into nourishment, uncertainty into hope, and vulnerability into a healthy start for Houston’s babies.

Under the leadership of Luncheon Chair Mary Morgan Stevens, guests enjoyed a meaningful program that celebrated community spirit and collective action. The afternoon featured keynote speaker Owais Khan, M.D., M.P.H., Medical Director of Pediatrix Medical Group, whose engaging presentation, “A Bottle Through Time,” explored the evolution and importance of proper infant nutrition. His insights underscored how L.I.F.E. Houston’s work has a lasting impact on the health and well-being of local families. The program also recognized outstanding community champions: Rachel Morris Rosson of Greenwood King Properties received the Angel Award for her steadfast support, while the Community Life-Line Award honored Grocery Services and The Gonzalez Law Group for their ongoing partnerships and remarkable contributions that help L.I.F.E. Houston served more families each year.

Adding to the excitement, Emcee Johnny Bravo led the live and silent auctions, guests bid enthusiastically, knowing their participation would directly benefit infants and families in crisis. “The energy in the room was incredible, and seeing so many people come together with one purpose, to feed Houston’s babies, was deeply moving,” said Mary Morgan Stevens, Fall Friends Luncheon Chair.

Beyond its beautiful décor and inspiring program, the true success of the Fall Friends Luncheon is measured by its impact. Every ticket purchased, every auction paddle raised, and every donation made directly strengthens L.I.F.E. Houston’s ability to provide critical nutrition support to families in their time of need. The Fall Friends Luncheon continues to embody L.I.F.E. Houston’s mission and the very spirit of Houston itself: a city that always shows up with heart, hope, and action.
