About L.I.F.E. Houston
L.I.F.E. Houston serves as a lifeline for new families by providing infant formula for emergencies and information about infant nutrition. L.I.F.E Houston is the only agency in the Houston-area focused on promoting food security among infants specifically.
Other programs provide long-term assistance but might have a waiting period of up to three weeks; in contract, L.I.F.E. Houston provides infant formula within a short time, often on the same day. Food banks and food pantries can provide food to older children and adults, but often do not have a variety of (or even any) infant formula available; however, L.I.F.E. Houston maintains a supply of over 30 varieties of infant formula.
Over the past 31 years, L.I.F.E. Houston has served well over 100,000 families and provided more than 30 million infant feedings through our Food for Babies program. The 2022 ExxonMobil Summer Intern will gain exposure in working in the nonprofit sector and will serve as an extension of staff for this unique Houston-based not-for-profit organization.
