If you need help, please visit one of LIFE/Houston's locations.
The in-take process averages less than 40 minutes for a first-time client visit. For repeat clients, the process takes less than 15 minutes.
Families can receive assistance up to six times before the child's first birthday. To receive help you will need:
One document showing baby's name and birth date
Photo identification for the parent/caregiver
Doctor's proof of need for specialized formulas (e.g. Nutramigen or Alimentum).
In return, you will receive enough nutrition for one week. Infants are given enough formula to provide 32 ounces per day of nutrition, for one week. Four jars of strained vegetables and cereal are offered at 5 months. Jars of strained fruits are added at 6 months and strained meats are added at 8-12 months.

"Times have been rough and it [is] always good to have someone lend you a hand. I've just had my baby 10 days ago and I'm going [through] some money issues, which I know will [be] temporary while I get back on my feet. I really appreciate LIFE/Houston for giving me a hand through these times. Now I know that someday I can give back as well. Thank you. You help is really appreciated.
Sincerely, Kaitlynn y Maria" (5/27/2011)
